Amazing Chinese Restaurants (中国餐馆) is a 10-part documentary series filmed across ten countries on five continents, exploring authentic Chinese restaurants hidden in cities around the world. Each episode follows a restaurant run by first-generation Chinese immigrants, uncovering the personal stories behind their kitchens.
Through these restaurants, the series highlights themes of homesickness, perseverance, cultural adaptation, and belonging. From small family kitchens to beloved local eateries, each establishment reflects the unique journey of its owners as they balance tradition with life in a new culture.
As Chief Director, I led the creative vision and production of the series, overseeing storytelling, filming, and the overall direction while capturing the diverse experiences of Chinese restaurateurs around the globe.
